Expert Voices -American Academy of OphthalmologyThe American Academy of Ophthalmology gave Safer Child, Inc. permission to reprint information on amblyopia, a serious eye condition that can forever compromise the vision of children who aren't treated for it early. According to its Web site, the American Academy of Ophthalmology is "the largest national membership association of ophthalmologists – the medical doctors who provide comprehensive eye care, including medical, surgical and optical care. More than ninety-four percent of practicing U.S. ophthalmologists are Academy members, and more than three thousand international ophthalmologists are international members."
